Springfield, KY to Mammoth Caves KY

first 2 hours of the day there was a very slight and faint drizzle, I rode as fast as I could while the weather was good and then was stuck in the rain. the rest of the day. was only 7 mi away from Mammoth caves. my campsite when the eye of the storm came and torrential rain with lightning and thunder. luckily I passed a church about a half a mile back. All these churches out here have a sheltered picnic area usually and this one did! it saved my ass. after the rain died down over an hour and a half later, I proceeded to Mammoth caves under light rain. going to take a rest day tomorrow and explore the caves!!
