I couldn't decide whether to start a little earlier and do a lap of Bedwell Bayfront or not. It was hot out and it meant I would need to ride my gravel bike instead of my road bike. In the end I decided to go early but I was regretting my decision at first. I didn't quite get there early enough to do much of Bedwell Bayfront, although some people were late and we ended up starting half an hour late. Zoe, Natalie, and Suzanne were on time. Kira was on her way to the Los Altos State of Mind and then realized she was going to the wrong one so she was late. Hong was also late. Emily lost track of the time so we met her on the way. But she got me a unicorn cake pop from Starbucks so... The gravel bike felt sluggish so I thought it was a mistake to ride it since I needed it for such a small amount of the ride. Later it actually proved useful as there was construction on one of the trails and the higher volume tires helped on the rough road out to Coyote Hills. It was also much windier than I thought it was going to be so it didn't feel nearly as hot as the forecast. I was almost worried it might get cold later but it ended up being perfect. It was windy until we got out to Coyote Hills but it wasn't nearly as bad on the way out to the levee as it could've been and then the rest of the way back was tailwind. Anthony and Irene met us at State of Mind. The seasonal, Peas on Peas on Peas Pizza was really good. And to finish it off, Emily got me a pecan tart from Lavender 'n Cream. ❤️
