Parked at the small church located right on Rt. 219 in West Sumner.
There is parts of this ride that have great views and nice dirt roads. Starting with the River Rd. While I didn’t see a single dog on this whole ride. A landowner at the start of the River Rd. had signs warning of a livestock a guard dog. But no livestock or dog or farm for that matter was seen (I think he was trying stop people from using this dirt road. There was also a sign saying no through traffic but I had no problems biking through at all.
If you look at my pictures you’ll get an idea of how pretty this area is. The River Rd. Takes you right into North Buckfield, and tar roads and some steep climbs and at 86 Deg. and high humidity I felt it.
Once I hit North Paris the map I was following had me cross 219 and up Abbott Hill Rd. but after about 2 miles I found the road is now a dead end. As a consolation there were some great views when I got to the top. I tried to find an alternate route back to the truck in West Sumner, but couldn’t find anything handy so ended up taking 219 back to the truck.
If you want to do this route you might want to try The Tuelltown Rd. to the Arthur Allen Rd. back the West Sumner.
