I rolled up to coffee outside at Wilshire Park, stopping for a big pile of jojos on the way (yes, I shared). Chris and I rode up to Kelley Point park from there, taking something of a circuitous route through alleys — it’s possible neither of us knew we were heading to the confluence of Columbia and Willamette rivers when we left our houses. I took the sandy path on Marine Drive and Chris wisely stayed on the pavement.
After bike shenaniganery (and thunder) and potential route finding we decided we needed fuel and found ourselves in Kenton on N. Denver Ave. We stopped for snacks at a bodega (delicious fried shit!) before stopping in at Kenton cycle repair to say hi. It’s a great local bike shop, you should absolutely stop in.
This is the point where we were done with the rain, I especially was long over not having my rear fender. We made a fairly direct route to southeast Portland. I clocked in at just under 40 miles.
