This was a very enjoyable ride with Bill. I arrived about 45 minutes ahead of time in spite of an accident on 545 which forced a 10 mile detour. Check in was a breeze and the support folks were very friendly. I walked around and took pictures until Bill showed up (Mark was a no-show after celebrating New Years for multiple time zones). I was honored to have the ride organizer, Mike Keel (Bikin' Mike), use the top of my car as a podium for his pre-ride speech. Mid 50's to start meant I got to ride in shorts for the first time for this event. The route started out heading south which allowed us to get a nice push from the winds out of the north. After the Princeton stop we headed north into the wind, uphill, on chip-seal. That stretch was a killer. There was very little traffic on these roads and a twirling dog on the side of the road was an entertaining diversion. The toughest part of the course was the stretch heading north on CR500 with multiple steep rollers. This is definitely not a flat course! I enjoyed some cornbread and black-eyed peas after the ride. It was nice to feel strong on this ride instead of making it a comeback ride! Thanks for keeping the Tweener ride running throughout the winter, Bill!
