So much had happened on this ride. Changed title 3x. Although I want to use bike for more than work commutes and occasional adventures. First I find it difficult to start late in the day. Particularly due to avoiding riding at night. Took off work for optometrist appt; which turned out great. I was expecting eyes to be dilated which they weren’t. Nine months ago my eye pressure was extremely high and borderline requiring glaucoma surgery. Today levels are mild and doctor believes it’ll clear within six months. Ride started at 3pm; used handlebar bag so I wouldn’t carry kitchen sink of supplies. Bike was significantly lighter. About six miles into ride…noticed I wasn’t wearing a helmet? Normally double check house keys and phone. Oh well, I wasn’t going back…I said I’ll be extra cautious. Hydraulic brakes are golden; saved me more times than I can recount. Sun was blazing, traffic was smooth and calm. I was busted by a cheerful pair of triple d’s. Strong going to edgewater and moderately slow return. So if you claim to be wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by the way you live. And when questions arise—go to the One who has answers. Even on the most overwhelming of days, trust that God is by your side. Ask yourself: “Do my thoughts match what people see on the outside?” Then, ask God: “Show me how to do what You’ve called me to do, and be who You’ve called me to be.” 👊🏾
