A ride of two halves. Outward leg to Maple Leaf cafe was really quite pleasant - sunny, just a light rain shower, good views, all helped along with strong tailwind. Lunch at newly-found cafe: good venue; excellent cycle racks; varied menu, suitable for all. Service a little slow but cafe was full. Return leg was a toughie with a lengthy climb up to Tunstall from Catterick against strong gusting headwinds and unfavourable side winds with heavier duty rain showers. Couple of instances of 🍮🦵🦵, but eventually reached descent of High Burton and cruise into Masham. Two other notables: The Nest Cafe at Crabtree Hall - too early in today's ride but noted for future outings; and, first rainbows for 6 weeks or more.
