Day 2 Machias to Bar Harbor

Machias to Bar Harbor mainly Rt1 and the ferry at Winter Harbor.

Some differences in the route used due to problems with the GPS and routing software...
I took Rt1A heading out of Machias, Chris I think took Rt 1. Both of us stayed off the ubikeable Downeast Sunrise Trail. In Jonesboro it was back on noisy speedy Rt 1. That did allow us to see the giant blueberry though.
Skipping Jonesport saved a lot of miles, and allowed making Bar Harbor that day. Rt 1A isn't all that bad to ride.
Made the Winter Harbor ferry landing in good time, and the ferry is a nice trip, very scenic to Bar Harbor.
Wonder View Inn at Bar Harbor. Visit to the Bar Harbor bike shop nearby, and the Dinner restaurant was very good.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
