I wasn’t feeling that well, today. I was getting over a few days of diarrhea, so the small climbs made me feel weak and dizzy. What did feel good was to get on the bike again after three days off. It feels like an extension of my body now. It was a nice, sunny day, perfect beach weather. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday were overcast but there was no rain; the forecast was way off. I thought that I’d be able to find a hotel in this town, but the only hotel, Hotel David, was locked shut. I rode east and above town and started to set up my tent on the side of the road. The police (like 5 men in a pickup truck) stopped to see what I was doing. At first they were okay and drove off, but a few minutes later another pickup truck with police stopped. They were worried about my safety (wild animals?) and I agreed to finding a hotel, so they were at first going to drive me 40 km east to Samtredia. I put my bike in the bed of the truck and we ended up backtracking west to Hotel David, and after they called the manager, he showed up after five minutes to let me in.
