Garmin was off for about 14-15 miles at the start of the ride, which means the first 49 minutes did not get recorded. Felt good all day and saw I had a chance to break 11 hours for a CTC event, so, while it seemed very unlikely, I went as hard as I could and made it with 18 seconds to spare.

NB: 2.6 mi & 10:15 in San Clemente; vs. 3.1 mi. mapped, so 0.5 mi saved by avoiding the route through neighborhood streets and sticking to El Camino Real.
49:06 of data lost at start of ride, which would have included stop lights; so avg. moving speed would have been faster. Regardless, the missing distance covered per the mapped route was 14.14 mi, making the total distanced covered = 193 mi, divided by 10.96666 hrs total time elapsed, makes the avg speed based on total time elapsed = 17.6 mph. Avg. moving speed, including the 14.14 mi not recorded at the start, and adding in as moving time that entire period (including stopped time at stop lights), my avg. moving speed was 18.35 mph.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
