Rode from home over Hansen Dam (when it was a nice 72F), up Little T, and followed a route I had mapped out to Golden State Hwy and Whitaker Peak Rd.:

This route used what is a new way for me to cross the Santa Clarita area in both directions. I made some use of bike paths in each direction., and a new, little climb -- White Cnyn Rd provides a nice, sustained 8%.
It started raining while I was on Sand Canyon, and stopped when I started up the Ridge Route Rd. It started raining on me again as I neared the bottom of Ridge Route Rd, and continued raining all the way home. I followed the mapped route until I reached Sierra Hwy, but then, instead of returning over Little T, I took Foothill back because I was plenty cold by that time.
I turned back 2.0 miles short of Whitaker Peak because twilight was just ending and the road turned to dirt, and I could not see that pavement started again further up. Also, the temperature had dropped to 34F, and I was afraid I could get into some serious trouble without more warm things to wear if I had a flat or some other problem. I was just barely managing the temperature while peddling. Descending the 2 miles back to Golden State Hwy was enough for my fingers to go numb from the cold, so it was a good idea that I turned back when I did.
When I made it home, I found that the skin on my legs and feet was turning blotchy red, with some stinging and itching; and I think I was having an allergic reaction to toxins or some other substance on the road, probably when I went by oil fields, etc.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
