Still in shock that I actually pulled it off. Especially because at the 26 mile mark I was stopped by the police!! As he sauntered over and I took my hood off I said I was attempting a record run. Thank goodness he immediately understood and said “go go go”!!! Probably lost three or four minutes and was losing time for a sub 3, but that was enough motivation to push even harder for the next 75 miles. Had some loose hood issues and a car that slowed down in front of me taking pictures:(. But kept pacing myself knowing I was getting closer to the needed 33.4 mph average.
Once I got to the 66 mile mark I really gunned it and was seeing speeds over 35 mph. Still had enough in the tank at the 90 mile mark to reach 37 to 38 mph for the push to the finish. The race hood Dave Lewis so kindly lent me has now helped me reach 59.75mph at Battle Mountain and now a sub 3 century. Thanks Dave! It feels Really awesome for this otherwise average 58 year old cyclist.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
