Another great time in Walla Walla for the annual Baddlands Spring Training Camp. We had a great ride on Friday. Today, (Saturday), the weather changed a bit on us. The majority of the group rode out together to Waitsburg. We had a little rain and some wind but not too bad. At Waitsburg the majority of the team headed west for a shorter, less demanding route. Five of us, (Jennifer, Abdean, Brian C, Brian H and Brent), were determined to take a path that not only yielded early season mileage but incorporated demanding climbs up huge rollers throughout the route, over 5000 ft in fact! Once again we made our way out to Starbuck with minimal rain and manageable wind. The climbing once again proved challenging but is exactly what we were looking for. A short stop in Starbuck and we were off again. Heading mostly South, Southwest on the journey home we encountered head wind nearly all the way. It wasn't overwhelming but certainly lived up to the definition of a good challenge. A couple good downpours added to our character building as well! The morale and extremely positive attitude of the group made even the most difficult portions seem like a blessing in disguise! All riders did very well and what a pleasure it was to be part of this group!! The training in and around Walla Walla is top notch with rollers stretching for mile upon mile. I don't think there's a flat spot to be found anywhere in that country. Highly recommended as a demanding and excellent training area with very little traffic. Special thanks to, and cheers of jubilance to my dear friends Jen, Abdean, Brian1 and Brian 2! You're all to be commended!
