Trail - Brennand - Arena - São Lourenço da Mata - Duas Unas - Santo Aleixo - Cova da Onça - Curado.
During the week, we combined the ride to the Duas Unas Dam. Last minute, some gave up. On Saturday, at 6 am, we left the Fleming Square: Paulo, Pedro, João and Fabiana. We followed the trail that goes to the Oficina Cerâmica Francisco Brennand. The tire of Pedro, new, torn in a stone. We changed the camera but he had to go back. The remaining three, we entered Brennand, we climbed through the woods, we passed the Metro Station Cosme and Damião, we continued by Arena Pernambuco.
Behind the Arena, we took the trail that follows the Capibaribe River. We climbed toward the BR-408 highway. Stop at a small bar to eat bananas and pine cones. And they gave us free water. We crossed the road and we followed through the road of cane sugar plantations, towards the west, and then moved to the South, towards the dam. This road is very beautiful with magnificent views of the region and a passage inside the dense forest. We did not go to the edge of the dam because Fabi was tired.
We followed straight to Santo Aleixo and we did a snack at the gas station. We decided to re-enter the track and get in the Arena. There is an impossible stretch of riding on the track that follows the power transmission towers: the water from recent rains dug the earth. We descended pushing bicycles to the creek and up pushing the other side. We continue to the famous Bar Cova da Onça, famous for cyclists who always stop there to refuel. We continued to take the trail that leads to the BR-408 highway but the trail was closed, the weeds took over. We went back toward the Curado, left on BR-232 highway and we followed by asphalt to the Fleming Square.
Excellent tour with beautiful scenery and we should redo because there are many options of roads to be explored in the region.
Summary. Distance: 67 km. Overall average speed: 9 km/h. Average speed moving 13 km/h. Maximum speed: 38 km/h. We left at 6am and finish at 1:15pm.
