Bob and Sonny decided to ride today and work tomorrow since it's supposed to rain all weekend. I couldn't do a full ride so I did a long lunch instead and pretty much did the most direct ride I could.
Whittemore Gulch out-n-back basically. I timed it perfectly and met them at the bottom parking lot getting there just before they did.
It was pretty windy and the wind was pretty cold but without it it was really nice. So I was either perfectly dressed or over-dressed.
On the way back, my original plan was to climb Purisima Creek but at the last second, I decide to go back up Whittemore Gulch because it's more scenic.
The first, steep part really wrecked me. The last time I did it, I stopped and waited for Bob at the top of each pitch so I got to rest. This time I just kept climbing and I didn't feel great for the rest of the climb. :)
I was dreading the last pitch back up to the parking lot but I was able to pace it and it wasn't so bad.
I passed one big muscley dude and his girlfriend struggling to hike up the grade. He looked at me as I was going by and said, "Dude! That's hardcore. You're strong!"

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
