The 3rd Friday is usually SJ Bike Party. This Bike-Party-of-One is my solo ride to substitute for SJBP during the county and state lockdown, taking advantage of the exemption for outdoor exercise as long as social distancing is practiced.
I had posted my route on RideWithGPS and Twitter. So it wasn't completely unexpected that I found someone else using my route. I caught up with my friend Nick at SJC which was Solo Stop 2 (a.k.a. Regroup 2 if it had been a normal Bike Party.) We maintained social distancing of 10-20 feet while talking. And each of us kept even more distance while our solo rides coincided briefly on the final segment back to the start point.
It was good to hear some feedback from another rider who liked the idea of having the regroup/solo-stop points at the two airports in San Jose. With some minor changes appropriate to a large group ride, this could work for a future SJBP route.

I rode my #BikePartyOfOne route tonight - it would have been the night for @SJBikeParty if it hadn't been cancelled for #COVID19. I started at Berryessa BART with stops at #KRHV airport, SJSU & #KSJC airport. #cycling #avgeek

OK, not completely unexpected... Since I posted my route, it was possible to find someone else riding it. 2 hours into the ride at Solo Stop 2 at SJC Airport, I found my friend Nick had been ahead of me on the same route. We maintained #SocialDistancing. #BikePartyOfOne #cycling

It was later in the evening than last Tuesday's ride, where I saw 3 airliners at 8pm. SJC was much more quiet at 10pm. No airline activity. Just a helicopter landing and 2 touch & go's by a Cessna Skyhawk. #cycling #BikePartyOfOne #aviation #avgeek

Total distance for me on #BikePartyOfOne was 26 miles. The posted route was 22 miles but I also rode 2 miles each way between home and the start/end point. #cycling

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
