I went out to do an easy hill ride and it was until, the heat, wind and hills wore me out, then it was anything but easy. I got in 47 miles then all of a sudden my legs said we are tired. Then the started to become an effort and it only got worse as the miles counted down. I was riding at 19.8 mph avg to about 40 miles then it started to drop by the time I hit 47 miles I was still over 19 mph then it went under 19 mph the wind piked up and it slowly went down to 18.6. I held this until I had 18 miles to go and the wind really picked up and I was running on empty. I lost another .2 mph to finish at 18.4. My power output stayed between 160-225 so I didn't drop my output it was the wind. Mr. Wind wanted me to yell "Uncle", I almost did a few times but I kept thinking Mr. Wind would ease up and could resume my normal pace which never happened. As the miles past by and I saw myself getting closer to home I just kept pedaling. All I could think of is my next few rides in zone 1 to recovery. My legs feel tired, flat and weak so recovery is the name of game for next two rides. I want my legs to be fully recharged by Sunday so I can race with the big dogs! I think I got this ride down to how I want it unless there are bigger or better hills out there that I missed. The ride has several change in scenery and is not boring by any stretch of the imagination. The only thing that I don't like is when you come to a stop sign you need to stop to see if traffic is coming because most stops are blind to oncoming traffic even though the road I am traveling on is low on traffic there is traffic on cross roads.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
