Daft cycle. Firstly, left saddlebag with mobile, repair kit, inner tube & food behind. Then got a puncture miles from anywhere. Except luckily, a single house - who were great, let me use the phone & have a go with a bargain basement puncture repair kit. Trouble was, the patches /looked/ right, but were solid rubber and would not bend to the tube. Luckily again, one of the people had a heat gun, and melted the patch. That got the puncture sorted. Problems over? Not quite - it was nearly dark, and my saddlebag had my decent rear light. Still, I had some emergency LED's on the bike, plus a tailwind & a road I knew. The rest of the ride went without incident, just as well, felt pretty exposed with just a single little red LED on the back. And just as it was getting too dark to see the turns, my phone call did the trick - a car behind that would just not pass turned out to be my wife, found me at last.
