Pre Holiday Dirt

Started earrrrrly for a dirt ride (8am was the target). Took a side trip up (up up up) to the Bucklodge Conservation area because there is a loop trail in there sanctioned by the county ... ahem, "trail". Extremely muddy in many spots, to the point where we thought we had been farther than we had, bailed to the road and thought it was Slidell Road. Uh, no, we hadn't even gone halfway around and were facing Peach Tree. Took almost a half mile to realize the mistake and backtrack.

County is planning to build a connector from the end of Ten Mile Creek trail to Bucklodge; we don't see any value in that. Early July and it's still a muddy, muddy mess? Noooooo...

    Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices

  • TCX Course

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
