Th e route we had intended to do had two bridges out and one road that was closed to through traffic. Needless to say we did some back tracking and lugged the bikes across one of the streams. The photo's give you some idea of the back roads and shows one bridge that did cross Russell Brook and then us getting ready to carry the bikes across the same Russell Brook further down the road where the bridge was gone.
The old abandon farmstead was on an old woods road that was once the Davenport Rd. We had some pretty rough going in this area too. I took a nice picture of Wes standing in front of Labrador Pond. This is very nice pond tucked back away from it all. After we left Labrador Pond we biked to the small village of Sumner but the road was posted "No through traffic" so we back tracked to Labrador Pond and the Fields Hill Rd. but the bridge crossing the east branch of the Nezinscott River was being g worked on and was also out so we again back tracked to the Valley Rd. out to East Sumner and took the Main Rd. to Hartford and back to the truck in Canton.
