Night Ride, I'm back,LOL at least for tonight. Cool, little windy and clear night... slow start until the aches and pains lessened then a gradual buildup to ride pace and wattage. tonight's was similar tot he other day but backwards to check out road conditions of unrideable roads. The good and bad; Cookstown to New Egypt road is repaired and rideable, Rte 528 going towards Wawa Rte 539 has mostly been repaired except for 3 old damage road sections not caused by recent utility installs near the beginning of this road it is in the middle of the new repairs. this caused my first rear tire flat of the night. once past this section of road the rest is nice the other side of the road the entire lane was very nicely done. Rte 539 WaWa to Rte 70 WaWa all shoulder damege from utility install had been nicely repaired however about 2 miles from WaWa at the Scrap Yard gravel parking lot off the shoulder, you guessed it gravel on the shoulder... my luck I hit one with my rear tire flat #2. Clear sailing to Rte 70, thinking I am home free only 16 miles to go. 3 miles down the road I hit something real small, soon after I hear this dreadful loud hiss but it sounded like it came from the other side of the road from a large angry animal. I didn't dare slow down so I went faster... didn't help angry animal was my rear tire going flat #3. It was pretty dark where this happened I turned off all my lights to conserve battery power except for the light on my helmet, one of my front lights and a blinky red taillight. Sitting behind the shoulder rumble strip in the weeds taking the tube out of the tire. Just as got the tube out a car comes by stops and backs up to check on me. He thought I might have had an accident or medical situation since I was sitting next to bike. I humbly thanked him his care and concern. Once he realized I was Ok back in his car and off he went. I only one CO2 gas left tubes I had 3 more but only 2 that could be used on these wheels. Back on the road I go but the rear tire wasn't feeling right with 14 miles to go I decided to take the direct route home. Just before I get home I noticed the wheel felt OK, feeling good about it kept going to finish the ride distance I intended. I guess the ride was an hour longer than it should taken. Start good finish Great!
