Chris and I were finally able to coordinate our schedules and get a ride in. I showed him Ahwhee and half of the Lusardi Creek Loop. Unfortunately, at the 50% mark, his rear brakes had almost totally seized. We tried some trail side repairs, but weren't able to free it enough to continue the ride.
After his wife picked him up from the parking lot at the 7 mile mark, I slogged my way back up the giant hills at the end of the route. Shew, those suckers aren't any fun, not even on an 80* day with a cool ocean breeze.
Ran the Contis at 25 front, 26 rear. I'm not used to such a low pressure, but didn't have any trouble on the turns. The rear gripped very well on the loose hills, but I did dramatically oversteer and alllllmost crashed on one of the slick, moss-coverfed concrete stream drainpipe things. Fortunately, my pedal struck the concrete hard enough to rebound me up enough for the rear tire to regain traction. Oops. Next time, keep it pointed straight through streams, especially at higher speeds.
