The plan was to ride 10 Mile Creek. Except we didn't know it was closed til sunset for hunting; aka deer herd thinning. Ok, fine, turn around and figure something else out. That turned out to be ride south to Schaeffer Farms along the Hoyles Mill trail, do a big circuit in there and return back the train station parking lot. Turned out to be a good ride, cuz, duh, riding. Probably more miles, too, when all was said and done. HM trail between Clopper and the soccerplex was ... less than optimum. Not much maintenance happening there as folks seem to have lost interest in the connection between Schaeffer and Black Hill. Extremely root now and some bad mud spots even as dry as it has been. Avoided the worst of it on the way back by climbing the road instead. Though, my legs were complaining about any long, sustained climb after also having ridden hard just 24 hrs earlier. Glad to get a ride in on the weekend, knowing that Sunday is gonna be wet, cold and ugly. w/Mark, Dan.
