Rode similar route as the day before, but continued up Route 9 which is a winding road consistently uphill with switchbacks, until you hit the Eastern Continental Divide and then go downhill at a very fast rate. No shoulder on the road, but well paved and there are more cars than I thought. Stopped at the top to take some pics. Took a right on Chestnut hill road, and though I wasn't sure it was paved the whole way, it was very safe. More hills and then some ups and downs. Rural area with many trailers, and my favorite trump sign gods guns and country. Took a right on Charlotte highway, which was too busy, but steep downhill then onto the Blue Ridge Parkway for a few miles, really nicely paved and not too crowded. Back to the Swannanoa back roads near Warren Wilson College, should have gone back onto Swan road again to make it an even 35 miles.
