Wandering around subdivisions off Gingercake road. Forgot to fill my bottles before I left so I had to head over to the Ridge. The gate was still up so I went in via the pedestrian/bike entrance. It was already pretty light outside but not quite sunrise yet.(Turns out the gate is automatic and sunrise happened while I was in the bathroom, as it was open when I left without any human intervention) Thankfully the bathrooms were unlocked and the water at the sink was on. I took the opportunity to pee, and noted that I was a bit dehydrated due to the uncertainty of whether I would get water or not. So I drank a bottle here, and filled up my two bottles to take with me. Soon though upon resuming the ride, it was drizzling more and more and while the temperature was warm enough for the rain to not be unpleasant, it was still a bit of a chilling effect on my need for water, and I quickly developed a problem as I really had to pee and there was nowhere to go... no gaps in houses at all or any bushes hardly. What woods there were were completely open and I was beginning to think I would have to pee my pants like I was in a triathlon or something. Anyway finally I found a place off Graves road that had a telecom hub switch thingy with woods behind and I ducked behind that and finally found relief. Afterwards the drizzle was more frequent and turned to rain and actually got pretty hard at times. I had no idea it was supposed to rain at all. When I left I could see the stars. I wondered why it was so warm though. I guess the coming rain explains it. Anyway, it was a pretty good ride and I haven't ridden in the rain in awhile. Glad I took my road bike rather than my gravel or cross bike.
As a bonus I found a really nice area at the end of a cul de sac on River Forest Dr, that had a wonderful spot to sit beside the creek and a couple of short trails beside it. I didn't see any signs posted anywhere and no houses were visible all around. Really big trees in full color and a gently tumbling creek.
