Dirty sheets loop with a decent attempt for a PR on the southern gravel portion of the loop, however my freaking chain dropped on a little downhill on Hopkins. I think I need to adjust the limit screw for the 11 tooth. Couldn't get it back on and had to stop and lost a minute, and this shook me a bit and the rest of the segment was a little slower anyways. I rode easy after the gate and to the Rico road crossing and then rode very hard and would have a new record but for a botched ford.... I went full speed into the water and it was way deeper than normal for some reason.... no idea why but I full on floated on the water for a brief millisecond and simultaneously my front wheel jerked to the right and I knew I was heading for the ground and perhaps the middle of the creek, and prepared myself for it but I have no idea how, I kept my grip on the tops and somehow didn't go down. Although was completely drenched and at an almost standstill so the hill climb wasn't all that fast.
It was a pretty physically demanding day at work today. Although I did feel pretty good though. I did have a south/east wind at the beginning but somewhere on the loop a storm approached and the wind shifted to the west/north, which was nice on the way home, till the storm caught me and it began to pour near the Fayette county line. I had my new light on flash and a good rear light, and waterproof electronics, it was cool to listen to familiar old songs while riding hard in a driving rain on gravel.... The Dead Eye by the Haunted. I was able to hustle down Palmetto road without getting passed, and went most of the way down through Tyrone on Senoia road without getting passed. Got on the path and cut through the back way after that.
