Pedalled down to The Tollgate Cafe at Denham Lock to meet Lawrie for "recce" ride. Unfortunately the cafe was closed - opens Thursday to Sundays.
We set off past Little Britain and through Packet Boat Marina, across the canal, and through newly landscaped grounds of a new estate to Trout Lane then on to Thorney. We made our way to Harmondsworth Moor via Cricketfield Lane. At the entrance to the Moor Lawrie successfully performed some maintenance on the gate involving the use of Plusgas and a hammer. A short ride on we stopped for tea at The Five Bells.
Moving on we made our way through Sipson, Harlington, and Cranford Park to lunch at the Queens Head, Cranford where we made to feel very welcome to the point of being invited to leave the bikes in the foyer.
Leaving the Queens Head we made our way through Heston to join the canal at Norwood Green. Turning right we followed the canal to the River Brent where we turned off up Green Lane and on to Hanwell Broadway. Crossing the Uxbridge Road led on using mainly off road paths through Brent Valley Park,Perivale Park, across the Greenford Road, alongside the A40 through Marnham Fields to Northola Park and a well deserved cup of tea.
We returned home following the cycle path across the park and alongside The Parkway to Willowtree Lane. Crossing the green space to Shakespeare Avenue we met Bernie G. and had a chat before continuing to Balmoral Drive, through yet another path, Mellow Lane to Pole Hill Lane were we diverged to our respective abodes.
A very enjoyable day's cycling.

Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
