Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

RWGPS Changed up their app.
Wasn't sure what you were talking about, it all looks the same as it did on my PC. Then I went to the phone app and saw that everything was different.
I like the Lake Como rides. Even though they are overcast, it's good scenery.
I hadn't looked at the phone APP until just now. I like it.
I don't care for it. Used to be my recent activities were right on the Home page. Now I have to go to Library to find them. Not sure what good the Home page is, now...
You can't do anything from the Home page that you can't do from the Library page.
Well I don't use the phone APP to do anything useful.
I only use the phone for a couple things. One is to add pictures to my ride, since they're on my phone. It took me a minute to figure out how to do it now.
The other thing I use the phone app for is following courses. If I'm riding a course I've mapped on RwGPS, I like to have it running on my phone in case I need to refer to it.
I just use my Bontrager/Garmin when I'm riding a new route that I've plotted out on RwGPS. I carry my phone with me but, to save the battery in case of an emergency, I don't use it unless absolutely necessary. I do use the Garmin "Live Track" on all my rides, which goes through the mobile phone, so Donna will know where I am if I have a problem I can't deal with on my own.
I put the routes on my Garmin, too. I like having them on my phone for backup, in case the Garmin fails (really, Garmin fail... 😝). I also like having it on my phone if I want to look at something more closely. The bigger screen makes it easier to see.
I kind of like this new app. Couple of things are quirky but better than the previous version (in my humble opinion). I built a route on RWGPS and didnt upload it correctly to wahoo. I was a bit concerned since i drove almost 2 hrs to the start of the ride. But since I buikt it w/ RWGPS it still Bluetooth to my wahoo. Which was great! Didnt know it would do that.
