03/14/21 Art Loeb Park Hickory Knob bushwack Horse Knob

We did this hike from the Art Loeb Parking lot. Cross 276 follow Starnes until you reach Lower Black Mountain and take that to Turkey Creek Road. The unmapped road veers off to the left. We followed/Bushwacked that unmarked road until it intersects with Turkey Pen Ridge trail and go just a few yards until you veer off to the right to Bushwack on a “hunters trail” to the top of Horse Knob. There is a hunters stand attached to one of the trees at the top.
We compare this route that uses the abandoned old Forest road that Chip discovered to the first time we hiked to Horse knob on 02/15/20.
