Temperature at Home 57F. Temperature at the Top of the Climb 43F. Dressed for 57F. Damn!!!! Turned around and went back down.
BRP closed to traffic. Would have been a great ride, had I been properly dressed for the weather. 😒

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Bummer.
Yeah. Might have tried to do the ride anyway but, there was so much
Debris all over the place from the ice storm a couple of weeks ago, I wasn’t sure what conditions the road was going to be in. 90% of the route is gravel.
Too bad. Getting the right amount of clothing is one of the most difficult aspects of cycling.
When I rode to Antelope Lake on Sunday, it looked so nice and sunny out that I started with one of my lighter weight long sleeved jerseys. I only made it two blocks to Main St before I turned around, went back home, and got a warmer one. I was glad I did for the whole ride.
Yep, I always like to start a winter ride a little on the cold side. So, since it was almost 60F when I left the house I thought I would be good in short sleeve and shorts. Buena Vista is an hour drive north of my house and it was a little cooler than 60F when I got to the start of the ride. I Didn't anticipate that it would be 43F (almost 20F cooler) and raining 5 miles into the ride at the top of the climb. I did consider continuing the ride but, wasn't sure of the condition of the roads and was pissed for being stupid and not prepared for the cold and rain. This wasn't my first cold weather ride in the mountains of Virginia!! HELLO!!😡
