2nd ride in two days and man, did we have to work for it. Started out with another beautiful day and probably about 7 miles in the wind started kicking up. From about the 11 mile point we had sustained winds of 21 mph and gusts 💨 to 31. Riding into that headwind was not a whole lot of fun. You know it is windy when you are going downhill and you still have to pedal to keep going forward. After miles of headwind we finally turned and then had the sidewind. Funny to watch Larry in a diagonal position just to ride straight. You would still get pushed about a foot to the left during the gusts. There were times when the desert was spitting sand at us. Definitely a tough 35 miles and I have never ridden against such high sustained winds. Wow, what a ride.
