Ulandt K, Darren G, Mark J, and Phillip. The Ripper K2R2 was a fun day with great weather, great roads, great scenery, and great company. Ulandt K, Darren G, and Mark J joined me for a fun ride around Mt Kearsarge in NH. Pauline joined us for breakfast at The Foot Hills of Warner and post ride beer and burger (worst ever) at The Local. Pauline did her own ride and got back in time to enjoy the Warner Fall Foliage Festival for a couple of hours while we were still struggling up the steep dirt roads. The foliage was fantastic, though not as fantastic as thephotos on Jeff Foliage's web page. http://www.jeff-foliage.com/fall-foliage-photography/gallery-nh/ I keep hoping to hit "peak foliage" on my fall dirt road rides, and feel a little disappointed when I'm a week early or a week late. This comment by Jeff Foliage regarding the beautiful photos on his NH Foliage page has me rethinking my quest... As far as “If only every Fall was like that”… Heaven forbid… How boring would that be… I know it would make things so easy and safe for everyone making their vacation plans… But! I think one thing that makes it such a draw that only once in a while do all the events come together to create these fall foliage scenes. If it happened every year and was totally predictable it would become boring. Its the chase that makes it interesting.
