Start at the Lyndon Baine Johnson Memorial Grove Parking area adjacent to the Pentagon's north parking.
0.0 - from the ramp to enter the grove turn right and hear over the bridge. Immediately turn right and follow the stone path towards the Marina parking Area.
0.1 - Bear right away from the stone path and ride on the asphalt path. Continue to the right and enter the parking lot. There is a narrow path that travels along the parking area if you choose to ride that.
0.4 - Turn left at the stop sign and then immediately right to enter the path that will take you towards the Mount Vernon trail. Ride under the parkway (great views of the Jefferson Memorial and the Washington Monument.
0.6 - Turn left at this intersection slightly past the Navy and Marine Memorial, then turn left at the "T" intersection to join the Mount Vernon Trail.
0.8 - Continue past the first intersection than make a right to head up towards the 14th Street Bridge.
1.5 - After crossing the bridge make a left (almost U turn) at he Capital Bike Share station and head west towards Ohio Drive on East Basin Dr.
1.6 - Turn right to cross the small bridge that spans the basin waterway and continue North on Ohio Drive.
2.1 - Turn right on West Basin Drive to head towards the Mall and Independence Avenue.
2.3 - Cross over independence Avenue and turn left on the sidewalk path that runs parallel to Independence Avenue.
2.5 - Turn right on Daniel C French Dr. The Korean Memorial will be to your right. Continue straight until you reach the Lincoln Memorial and ride in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
2.7 - Turn right to ride east along the path that parallels the reflecting pool. The pool will be on your right. Restrooms are available to the left at 2.9.
3.3 - Immediately after passing the The World Word II Memorial turn right on 17th Street. You'll get treated to a great view of the WWII Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial. Immediately after passing the memorial turn left to cross 17th Street and head up towards the Washington Monument.
3.5 - follow the path to the right to circle around the monument in a counter clockwise direction.
3.7 - Follow the path to the right to cross 15th street and head east towards the Capitol.
3.8 - Cross 14th street and then make a quick left and quick right to pick up one of the main gravel paths that parallels the mall. Continue east towards the Capitol.
4.6 - Cross 4th Street and turn left towards the National Gallery of Art and then make an immediate right to continue east along Madison Street.
4.8 - Cross 3rd Street. At this point we will head up and to the left along the path that will take us to the north corner of the Capitol.
5.0 - Cross First Street and continue heading up to the left towards the North corner of the Capitol.
5.1 - Follow the path to the right and ride directly in front of the Capitol. This is a great place to pause and take a few pictures.
5.3 - Continue following the path past the Capitol facade to the right until you reach first street again, then circle around the reflecting pool to return towards 3rd Street. The Botanic Gardens will be to your left. I highly recommend a visit to these.
5.6 - Turn right on 3rd Street and head back to the point where you crossed 3rd Street.
5.7 - Turn left on Madison. The entire lane is designated a bike lane. Head back towards the Washington Monument.
6.7 - Turn right onto 15th Street, cross Constitution Avenue and turn left immediately after you cross to ride on the path that parallels Constitution. The Elipse and White House will be to your right as you head west towards 17th Street.
7.2 - Shortly before reaching 17th street turn right on the path that enters The Elipse. You will follow this path in a clockwise direction around The Elipse back to this exact spot. Along the way you we'll pass directly in front of the White House's South Lawn.
7.9 - Turn left to return towards Constitution Avenue and 17th Street. Cross Constitution and then immediately turn right to cross 17th Street to hop on the path that parallels Constitution Ave. Continue heading west towards the Lincoln Memorial. The reflecting pool is visible to the left.
8.5 - Turn left on Henry Bacon Dr. to head towards the Lincoln Memorial. The Vietnam Memorial will be to your left.
8.7 - Turn left on Lincoln Memorial Circle and follow the path clockwise.
8.8 - Turn left at the crosswalk and then immediately right to cross 23rd Street to continue on the path to cross over the Memorial Bridge.
9.4 - After crossing the bridge stay to the left to follow the path over the ramp from the George Washington Memorial Parkway.
9.5 - Stay to the right at this intersection and continue South to cross once more over a GW Parkway Ramp. Continue south and towards the Pentagon.
10.0 - Follow the path down the ramp towards the Pentagon's north parking and Boundary Channel Dr.
10.2 - Your loop is complete.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
