Did the Tuesday Tiger ride (on Wednesday this week due to weather). Found someone who wanted to ride all the way to the top (most were just doing lower OTG/NOTG then EBAD then out), so Wesley and I powered up Powerlink. He’s a cat 2 Wednesday Worlds rider, but I managed to pace him well climbing Powerlink. He easily beat me down ETS, and then down upper OTG. We started down NOTG, but I noticed my front brake was getting very squishy. I pulled off (a bit before the big log drop) and discovered that I’d forgotten to put in the cotter pin, so my pads were falling out! One of the pistons had pushed out very far, so after a bit of monkeying to try to get it back in, I gave up, took out the pads entirely, and moved the caliper so that the front wheel would at least turn without rubbing. Riding down lower NOTG without a front brake was harrowing. I decided to finish the ride by descending Masterlink: seemed safer than Fully Rigid and Joyride. Turned on my bell and light but nobody else was climbing it. Got to the bottom and most of the food was gone (but it looks like it was mostly meat chili)! Today’s lesson: never work on your brakes when you’re in a hurry!
