Tough ride ~but the scenery was worth it ... stiff wind out of the south so the first 20+miles were essentially uphill into a cold wind. There's also about 3000 ft of vertical in the first 30 miles as well ... it got much nicer after that. The roads also left something to be desired ... I would reconsider some of my choices on this route again ~ Appletree rd recently oiled and graveled I thought Carpenter Falls would be more scenic but i was too busy trying not to wreck ~Ripley Hill rd turns into a dirt rd and was partially frozen ~ Church hill rd coming down to the Otisco causeway is a descent that you will ride your brake the whole way 20+ % grade ... a lot of other parts of the ride had sand and gravel from the recent snowfall so slippery and a little dangerous on the downhill sections and using extra energy on the uphill sections due to loss of traction ... that leaves just Owasco as the only Finger lake not circumnavigated ...yet
