Went out for a short ride. Where the new bridge and cycle path underpass are being constructed at Les Stone Park I veered of the path to go around a long, deep puddle across the track. I veering left my tyres both lost traction and I steered into the slide but went down suddenly. Clipped in, I fell on my back. I heard a cracking noise and thought it was my teeth banging together. I lay there for a second and then extracted myself from the pedals and struggled upright. A lovely young Mum ran over to see if I was OK. I reassured her I was good except for a hurt pride. I regained my composure and scraped the mud of the sole of my clips. I debated whether I would go ahead with my ride but felt a bit sore so decided to head 4.5km back home. Got home covered in mud down right side from toe to helmet. Washed bike, had a shower and cooked dinner. Then the pain started to amp up. Ribs became very painful with sudden stabbing pains every now and then even if standing still. Couldn't sleep in bed so slept three nights on recliner chair. three days later on Wednesday went to ED at hospital. After being examined and waiting for Xray results I passed out and woke up on ED floor with several Drs and nurses around me. Seems I had a reaction to the Endone painkillers they gave me. Results came back and showed I have three fractured ribs (3, 4 and 5) of left side. ED sent me home with painkillers. Wasn't well, became dizzy so decided to have a shower. Stripped off for shower and saw that I still had a Cannula in my arm. Back to ED to have it removed. They took one look at me and wouldn't let me leave. Booked me in to hospital for two nights. Out now but feeling low energy so just pottering around. No riding for at least another week I reckon.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
