This ride was the first day of a 3-day trip from White River Junction to Brunswick, ME. Most of the route follows the Adventure Cycling Northern Tier route. Much of the first half takes quiet roads along the Connecticut River and is mostly rolling. The most challenging part is from ~mile 40 to 55. We rode this just after Labor Day and traffic in most parts was light and vehicles gave us a wide berth. This section is also quite scenic. Not much is available in the way of services and food once you pass Orford NH/Fairlee VT so prepare accordingly. We ended at the Notch Hostel; add another mile or so to get to the center of town.
