Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Nie ride. How was the traffic?
nice...I hate this wireless keyboard!
Traffic wasn't bad, lots of side roads. Roads were clean too, no ice, sand and snow.
Sierra College Blvd can get pretty busy.
I went mountain biking with our son over Christmas at Hidden Falls (due North of your route at mile 23), and I told him as we were driving up there that I'd really like to ride Mt Vernon Rd. I'm still planning to do it at some point, possibly before Spring.
I remember seeing the sign for Hidden Falls. It's good winter riding down there now, and it will be hot in summer. Let me know if you get down here to ride. What is it for you 3 hours?
Sunday morning too, that may have been when traffic was at the low point.
I don't know the area at all, had to rely on the Sacramento Wheelmen for the route.
To our son's in East Nicolaus it's about 2 1/2 hours, and another 15-20 minutes to Lincoln. When I ride down there, I often start from his house, but starting in Lincoln might be better if you're riding East, towards Auburn. Otherwise, you end up with a bunch of flat miles between Nicolaus and Lincoln.
I didn't know your son lived there. I'll go back and ride again sometime when you are visiting. Mt. Vernon was a pretty section of the ride. Standing at the foot of Big Ben Road was impressive (I think that's the one with the successive rolling hills leading upwards.)
