Talihina Triple

Three climbing zones. Talimena Scenic Byway (20 miles of roller coaster 3400' ), Three Sticks (5 miles 1174'), and Old Indian Highway (from Honobia 10 miles 1500' (3 false summits). Start and end in Talihina. No services on route until Honobia (64 miles). The section on Talimena Scenic Drive consists of some serious double digit pitches with a couple of 14%ers. Be prepared with the proper gearing.

Cold, potable water available at Pipe Spring picnic area 1 mile S of Talimena Scenic Drive on 259. A well stocked convenience store is located about 1 mile S of Octavia turnoff on 259 . There is also the tiny Bigfoot Store located approx. 8 miles W of Octavia on 144, but I wouldn't depend on it. It could be easy to miss the turn to Honobia from 144 as it is poorly marked at present. I would advise carrying three large water bottles or a Camelback if you attempt to do this ride without support.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail).
