This ride begins from the Wallace Inn. Take Nine Mile Road off the bike path. The first three miles is a gradual climb (about 500 feet). The next 3.5 miles is a much steeper climb, most of it at 7-9% grade. However, this is the only climb on the ride. There is a 4.5 mile downhill after the summit. The first 3 miles of it is very steep (up to 11%) and there are a few hairpin turns. The next six miles follows Beaver Creek (FS 456) to the junction for Thompson Pass. Go left at the junction. This becomes FS 9 and follows the North Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River. Ride 20 miles into Enaville. This is a beautiful stretch. Lunch stop at the Snake Pit Inn (mile 36.2). The final section is on the Trail of the Coeur D'Alenes.
