The sun was out, and although it was windy and bitterly cold, it was too much of an invitation to go out. Maybe 200 yards into Box Hill and I passed another younger rider who was going slightly slower than me. By the 1st corner I heard puffing behind me and glanced round to see him stuck on my rear wheel. I thought maybe he would take a turn at the front but not a bit of it. He sucked my wheel all the way up, even when I put a little spurt on to shake him up. He did at least thank me at the top, but he owes me. 4pm at the top so I thought I'd go straight back home and rode back down Box Hill for the 1st time ever (lovely smooth run but you have to raise your bum over the humps to keep control). Just over an hour later and I was home, in the dark.
