Griffith Observatory and Frog Town

Sunday ride with the boys, Joe and Fernando this time. I rode from home and planned to rendezvous near Sonora on their way to the Griffith Observatory. I left quite a bit later than I had planned, and hammered towards Travel Town. Joe sent me a text message when they turned onto Sonora, and I called them when I made it to Zoo Drive to make sure they were in front of me. I caught them on the short climb to the closed gate. Joe was inclined to head over the Ferndale, but I prevailed on him to head over to the Spoke Bicycle Cafe instead. It was a very pleasant recovery ride, and a nice visit with a couple of my riding buddies of long standing.

    Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices

  • TCX Course

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
