Went on a solo ride today. Weather was warm and humid. Fortunately it was a little cloudy, so that helped by giving an occasional reprieve. I cruised the downhill as I had planned, and the same for the uphill return. I tried to keep my BPM at around 150 or below. I was able to match that pace, with a few digs, such as going over the top of the Loop monument. I anticipate to do the same ride tomorrow, which will put me on par for a Tour de Teh. ride on Wednesday. The question is, do I do a 3 lap, or just 1. Will have to see how the weather holds up and how I'm feeling at the time. I want to get out no earlier than around 11:30 AM. More likely around 12PM or a little later. Ok, ailments... My right hand became numb towards the end, when my HR got above 150. I was able to shake it off, but it did affect my tempo. Concentration was pretty good, a lapse here and there, but I was able to pull my focus together, in order to keep a modest tempo. Balance is good. Like usual, the off camber roads on the way up the climb, throws my balance off a little. I have to lean to one side to compensate. The bike is working great, no problems there. I put some new handle bar tape after today's ride. GPS is working well, as is my MP3 player. I've no clue what's going on with the GoPro. My guess is that worse case scenario, they shipped it to the wrong person. Or, the shipping is delayed. I'm going to ask for Overnight delivery if they made a mistake. So, I'm testing the theory that I will need 1/2 liquids remaining in my bottles at the top of the return trip from Keene. Turns out I had just a little over 1/2. So, I think I'm good to go for Sunday's big ride. Will have to stash 3 energy bars to make sure I have enough food for that day.
