By the time I finally got my bike back from the cycle shop it was afternoon, so I cut my intended ride into Porto short and decided to only ride 50 miles to Aveiro which stood at the mouth of a lagoon. I followed the very flat roads north of the Mondego to Tentugal and then took minor roads across to the coast at which point there were lots of new developments and there was a very new feel about the place. I had an eventful ride into town, the gears were now working great on the new hangar and the weather was good. My hotel was in Praia da Barra, located on a spit of land on the mouth of the lagoon, and there was a huge Lighthouse standing yards away from the Hotel.
