It was another wet day, I followed a dead straight road heading north out of Ferrol and as the rain grew heavier I was slogging up a climb which would top out at about 1000 feet after which it was downhill to the coast then no major climbs but a very 'lumpy' ride with constant ups and downs lay ahead. The view back to Ferrol would have been great on another day but today it looked dark and omenous. Over the climb I descended to Porteiro, the first town I hit on Spains Northern most coastline. Another 20 miles I was at O Barqueiro which is pretty much the most Northerly town in Spain, from here there is only a 3 mile headland to Bares. I was now heading east and would be all the wat to and beyond Sam Sebastian to the French border. I continued in bleak weather past multiple gorgeous towns and villages I would love to see on a bettre day such as O Viceido, Viveiro and Foz. The day was long at 90 miles with almost 7000 feet of climb and the run into tonights stop was unending at times, but suddenly there I was in Ribadeo, famous for it's Cathedral Cove and beaches ... None of which I would see but I did find an excellent steak bar in town that night so all was not lost !
