Great way to end the year. Kept going back and forth debating joining this ride, and finally settled on going late last night. While some folks really love the idea of working from home, I'm not so big on it. For me I feel less productive and eventually this laziness starts to creep in. That laziness is one of the reasons I waited until the last minute to sign up to ride. I was sitting on the couch last night just ruminating excuses to not go. Finally made myself sign up and commit to going and I'm glad I did. Ride was great. Had a tail wind for most of the ride out to the Callville turnoff. Riding down the canyon to the bay the wind turned to a cross with a couple pucker moments. Enjoyed a nice rest and refreshments at the little store before starting the ride home. The climb up Callville Canyon was nice and went really quick. Saw a couple PRs which I attribute to the swirling winds which felt very more like a tail wind than anything. At the top we regrouped before making the final push back. Knowing that we would be facing some stiff headwinds we tried to get lined up in a pace line, but we ended up with two distinct groups all the way back to the park entrance. After a quick regroup at the toilets after the park entrance we set off for the final push to Pebble Marketplace. Instead of gong over to Warm Springs we cut off through Cadence to hook up with Galleria instead to avoid ongoing construction. After the Gibson climb I peeled off to continue south to Las Palmas Entrada before continuing west Paseo Verde. From there it was a pretty standard ride home via Green Valley Pkwy. Was definitely fading towards the end, especially with all the additional elevation. Looking forward to a nice chill night and early bedtime despite it being NYE.
