A good ride and workout but was maybe a bit more ambitious than it should have been as I found myself running out of steam in the last 10-15 km. I encountered a headwind on the way back that I had forgotten about along River Road and Allard Crescent. I had forgotten the impact this has on an upright bike. It's not normally a problem on my recumbent trike.
I also had a minor crash in the last 5 km on the way back on a paved path with may have been due in part to my quickly draining energy. I overcooked a curve trying to avoid vegetation that had encroached a paved multi-use path and the wheels hit a rut. My fault, I over compensated trying to keep the bike upright. I slid quite a ways on the pavement after going down. A bit of road rash on my left knee, hip and shoulder and my helmet is toast. The bike faired much better with only a minor scrape on the handlebars as it stayed put while I slid on the pavement.
I probably should have gone straight home from Starbucks instead of trying to get in an extra 5 km. I feel fine now, but we'll see what tomorrow brings when the endorphins and dopamine have dissipated.

Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
