Sightseeing ostriches, cows, and stuff with a couple of friends. The group ride starts at Big Rock Park in Santee (nice restrooms, water fountain, picnic area) and winds thru Santee on bike-friendly streets (well, there's a narrow stretch on El Nopal, but people expect to see bikes there). Hilliker's Egg Farm has cows, ostriches, and emus out in the front yard. Support local business if you can! They sell fresh eggs (chicken, emus, and ostriches), and even local bee pollen and honey. The swing up to Lake Jennings was optional. It's a bit of a climb, but with amazing view to earn, especially on a clear day. Lindo Lake is the only natural lake in San Diego County (the rest are manmade), but was all barricaded up when we passed thru. Could not get into the eastern side (or the middle) of the lake at all.
