Cycle along the coast road through Olhos d'Agua, Falesia, Quarteira and via the back roads to Vale de Lobo. From there I tracked down to Praia de Ancao where the track had been upgraded to a very good boardwalk past Sao Lourenco golf course. Then I followed the trail at Ludo down to the airport runway. There were multiple waders along the lagoon including Flamingoes and spoonbills. Once at the end of the airport runway it's a right turn across the bridge onto Faro Island. The island is a very nice Hippie type place with surf beaches on the coastal side and the lagoon on the airport side. Lots of Camper vans and surfers and surf bars in one of which I had an excellent Bachallao a Bras for lunch before returning on a slightly different route across the Ludo salt flats.
