N'Emonda. Sunny, nice temps in the 60's and 70's, 8-9 mph SE/South winds. About 2/3 of this ride was on great roads, 1/3 was rough surface with little to no shoulders - I won't take parts of this on future rides. After a 2 mile climb up to Tangerine, next 13 miles was downhill, some of it very fast. My average was 20.4 mph at the halfway point. After a fairly long flat to rolling section, last 12 miles was all climbing. Finished up with a good average for a solo ride in these conditions.
Some watchouts for future rides:
Tangerine Rd West is just fine with a good shoulder up until about 1.5 miles before I-10 when it becomes a more narrow road with no shoulders and sketchy pavement, particularly at the edges. Most drivers in Arizona don't think twice about passing a cyclist with little or no room. Once you cross under I-10 overpass, it's once again a really nice road with a wide shoulder and even a bike trail in parts.
Sanders Rd going South from Maran has an ok surface but little or no shoulder. Avra Rd has a nice surface and a wide shoulder, Clayton Rd going South is a fairly rough surface with no shoulder and fortunately not much traffic. Next 6 miles or so on West Twin Peaks is pretty bad in spots with a terrible rough surface and no shoulder. Fortunately not much traffic until you get inear White Stallion Ranch. I won't travel this way again - much better to take Avra Rd and wind your way down to Twin Peaks near I-10.
Contaro Farms Rd is fine except the part around I-10 when the bike lane dissapears for about 1/4 mile and you get crowded in with the cars through the underpass. Definitely better to take Twin Peaks across farther North.
Other than all that, an excellent workout and decent power numbers:
